But the gorilla said that he could not swim . The crocodile offered to help the gorilla climb on his back, so that later the crocodile could take the gorilla's heart. Then the gorilla agreed to climb on the crocodile's back. When it was halfway across the river, the crocodile quickly went underwater. The gorilla asked the crocodile what he was doing, but the crocodile just laughed and asked the gorilla if he really trusted him as a friend. The gorilla thought and said to the crocodile that he put his heart in a safe place. The crocodile asked the gorilla to take him where the heart was. The gorilla said it was by the apple tree by the river. And when they arrived, the gorilla quickly climbed the apple tree and laughed at the crocodile. The crocodile was crying. The gorilla felt bad for the crocodile and asked the crocodile why he wanted his heart. The crocodile said that he wanted to be strong like the gorilla. Gorilla says that to be strong you only need to be happy in your own heart. Being someone else will only make you sad. Go home and learn to be happy with who you are. The crocodile came home and said that now he would find the strength he needed in his own heart.
